As part of its increased investment in the Southeast Asia region, China-based trucks manufacturer Chenglong Motor officially launched its first showroom on August 11, 2017 at 1174 Epifanio De Los Santos Avenue (EDSA – north bound side) near Balintawak LRT 1 station in Quezon City.
The Chenglong commercial vehicle brand has been in the Philippines for more than 10 years and its the first time the company opened its showroom in the country.
With more than 7,000 current employees including the Middle East, Africa and South America, Chenglong Motor under its mother company Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. founded in 1954, produces passenger and commercial vehicles in China since 1969.
Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor posted 227,600 units sold in 2013 with sales income of 17.5 billion yuan rmb (more than P135-billion).
The company’s 35-hectare property has formed an annual production capacity of 150,000 commercial vehicles and 40,000 passenger vehicles of its four major brands including Chenglong Motor, Dongfeng Balong, Dongfeng Longka, and Dongfeng Fengxing.
“Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. pays great attention to market trends, emphasized customer needs, bases on the concept of “create value for customers and create wealth for the society”, constantly developed high quality products and provided relevant services. In the next step, the company will build up elite products, create well-known brand and greater development,” the company statement said.
The showroom in the Philippines is operated by Stone Brothers Inc., which started distributing Chenglong Motor trucks and heavy equipment products in the country in 2016.
“I grew up with trucks from a very young age and truly blessed to be able to do what I love for a living. I thank my father for inspiring me in my love and passion in building this country. That really is how Stone Brothers came to be,” said Richardson Chua, Stone Brothers Inc. general manager.
“I believe this passion unites the Filipinos. I hope that you will let us be part of your dream. The dream of a better country for all of us,” Chua said.
Chua said their company’s focus is on maintenance and continuous support. “Our unwavering commitment to our clients, excellent service, and the availability of spare parts is clear in our goal to empower businesseses to be able to use less resources to create more,” Chua said.
According to Chua, Stone Brothers’ core advantages on Chenglong Motor trucks are built on durability, efficiency and safety.
The Chenglong chassis is like no other. Chenglong has a 6,300-ton presser, the only one in Asia. Other companies bend their truck chassis separately. The Chenglong presser is used to bend them at the same time fusing them completely. This eliminates any crevices or imperfections that might be the entrance point of water or other corrosive substances. Chenglong trucks have five layer coating system to make sure that the truck will not rust through the years.
Chenglong trucks are efficient both in fuel consumption and hauling capacity. Using a best in class Yuchai engine, an adaptive transmission and aerodynamic body design Chenglong lower down operating costs by using less fuel and fewer maintenance expenses.

Chua said Stone Brothers Inc. will also conduct the following as part of Chenglong programs in the Philippines:
- A website will be launched this month for the customers to access complete truck specifications, parts and accessories including downloadable parts hand book at http://chenglong.com.ph/;
- A hotline will be created customers and partners easy access;
- Customers will be offered a quarterly training program about operations and industry standard maintenance and troubleshooting. The first training is scheduled on September 15, 2017; and
- Butuan branch will be launched soon and there will be more branches to open every quarter. Stone Brothers Inc. is planning to open 43 more showrooms in the country.
