Netflix recently released the new second season of its original sci-fi TV series Lost in Space, produced in the US recreating the 1812 novel “The Swiss Family Robinson.”
Instead of plotting the family lost in sea and finding a remote island, the new TV series follows the adventures of the Robinson family of pioneering space colonists whose ship veers off-course and crash landing on an alien planet. The 10 episodes expose how the Robinson family fights against all odds to survive and escape.
Starring Molly Parker, Toby Stephens, and Maxwell Jenkins, Lost in Space is set in the year 2048 when the Robinson family is selected to board an interstellar spacecraft with other selected families to colonize a new planet. Exploring a new world is necessary after a celestial object crashed to Earth a few years ago.
The adventure starts when an unexpected breach in their spacecraft occurred before reaching their destination forcing them to evacuate. The Robinsons chose crash landed on a nearby habitable planet where they face the challenges in the strange new world and struggle back to the mother interstellar ship.
